Work position details
Development of thermo-economic models using IPSEpro for the optimization of a 100MW molten salt tower plant. During this project I was in charge of the following:
- Optimizing the thermodynamic configuration of a steam turbine power block. I developed a new Monte-Carlo approach to perform Partial Load fast simulations combining MatLab and IPSEPro.
- Optimizing the solar field layout based on eSolar's micro-heliostat approach (+100.000 heliostats). Layout optimization was performed using WinDesol. Detailed thermal performance was performed using SPRAY (Ray-tracing code from DLR)
- Finding the best thermo-economic size of the thermal storage system
